An offline was done on Producer but the timeline comes into Media100 HD 11.5.1 as an unknown kind of file. How do I change the kind of file without changing the extension as in windows?

See the thread “Wrong document kind” below. But this doesn’t sound like your problem. How did you transfer the file from Producer to your other Mac? Did it go through a Windows file server along the way? See the thread “Xternal Drive File Storage Problem.”

You need to archive the file by some mechanism before you FTP it, because FTP doesn’t preserve Mac resources. The easiest way is “Create archive of” by control-clicking the file in the Finder. StuffIt will also do it.
