Wrong audio channel playing
I have a strange problem with premiere pro 2. Project and media files are stored on an external hard drive. When connecting the drive to different computers everything works fine except for a few audio tracks.
Those audio tracks were ones that I have broken out to separate mono channels. Though the file name says that the audio should be playing the “right” channel, the wav form and actual audio is that of the “left” channel. So I have 2 mono audio tracks both playing the “left” channel, not one track on “left” and one track on “right”
The breakout to mono works fine on the first computer that I started the project on. When I move the external HD to a new computer it swaps the channels. As well when I pull that file from the bin to place it on the time line it now has both channels grouped together as mono files.
I hope this makes sense so far.
I have three questions regarding this:
1) Is this a bug?
2) How do I prevent this from happening?
3) How do I fix this problem once it has occurred?
-So far my solution has been to re-break out the audio to mono and resync the “correct” channel which is a real pain and a big waste of time.
Any ideas/help would be appreciated.
