I swear I saw a tutorial before that showed either lightning writing or engraving into a floor or wall based object. Over at MaxAfter there is one on making like a spark arc weld that cuts out a word sorta like an arc weld with trapcode particular. What I’m looking for is how to make that fluttering glow around the tip torch. Just to add a little bit more of an effect.

I know Aharon has a tutorial on how the sprint commercial works but I’m looking for that cutting a piece of metal out with an arc welder.

    Any ideas?

I’m not quite sure what you’re asking for, but it sounds like you could just put a lens flare on there. You might want to colorize the flare layer to make it match the cutting light. Then for the brightness of the flare put a wiggle expression so that it flickers.

I think that was exactly the tip I was looking for. Thanks great Szalam!
