    Hi All.
I’m doing an ETT this morning, taking a 13 minute video to Digibeta. When I click to do the edit, I’m getting a Writing Video message. It builds the video and then tells me to click when ready. Although I’ve seen posts about this in the past, this is the first time I’ve had it happen to me. No big deal, just kind of annoying.
My question is, just what is FCP doing at this point and more importantly, why is it doing it? Near as I can tell, I didn’t do anything different than what I normally do for this video.
It’s just a straightforward DV50 timeline with a couple of layers and 8 audio tracks. Yes, I did do a mix down as well.
Inquiring minds just want to know…

If you have any clips that are disabled, for some reason FCP will need to re-render the whole entire sequence. I have no idea why that is. If you delete those disabled clips out of the sequence, that message should go away.

Much thanks to whoever figured this out on the cow.

    Yep. That was it.
I had a few clips that I had left disabled, using them just for a timing reference.
    Thanks…now I know.
