Write on text in Premiere cs5

I do all of my write on effects in AE, using Paint on a Mask, and was never aware that there was the possibility of doing it in PPro. Here’s a thread (old by the way) which says there is:

Just because you could do it in 2004 doesn’t mean the feature still exists in CS5.
