  • Write-on random stroke length and loop

    Hi,

I haven’t been able to find what I’m looking for just yet.

I am creating a background motion graphic that consists of the company logo (graphic symbol & words) moving randomly around the screen in low opacity. I would like to also add some edge light effect to the words but haven’t gotten there yet.

For the words, no write-on effect, just random smooth motion, I am using the expression

    wiggle(.05,1000)

It works okay…I wouldn’t mind being able to control the height/width parameters as well but with the 3D turned on, it looks okay.

I’v created a shape path write-on effect that traces the logo on the screen. I would like to create the same sort of random smooth motion as the words. But here’s where I’m most stuck:

    1. creating random values for the stroke length (sec)…the duration until the stroke writes-off
    2. creating a loop where the logo can then pick up a new random value and start the write-on/write-off process again.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
