  • “write-on” effect – how can I turn off bezier curves?

Posted by Paul Boone on January 26, 2012 at 11:10 pm

I’m trying to reveal an image by using the “write-on” effect based on a tutorial I’m using. When I key frame brush position and then move further in the timeline to paint to the 2nd keyframe, the line is straight. when i move ahead in time to paint to the 3rd keyframe, the write-on brush turns into a curve with bezier handles. I just want straight lines from point a to point b to point c, etc. and then reveal my image.

    why is the line curving?

    thanks

In Write on the motion path defaults to bezier spacial interpolation.

To change it you can double click on the layer in the timeline to open the layer panel where you can see the motion path.

Click on one of the vertices with the Convert Vertex tool to change the interpolation to linear. You can also alt+control click or Command + Option click to access the Convert Vertex tool temporarily.
