Write-on effect creates a mask instead of stroke…
I wonder if its possible to generate the write-on-effect on a ai-layer (imported in my ae-project)?
I have handwritten i word in ai and I now want it to grow as i line. I know this is possible on a text-layer, but when I start using the pen-tool for making the stroke-path (that I want to hide my ai-word) a MASK appears instead! What shall I do??

the pen tool creates masks in AE. If you want, you can create your mask, press “M” and then just set the mask mode to “none”, then it will just be a path you can use to for your effect.
