Wrapping a graphic
Posted by Victoria Ellis on August 3, 2005 at 6:44 pmAny ideas how to wrap a graphic around a cone shape, and rotate the cone. I have AE 6.5, but I seem to not have lots of the ‘CC’ effects that I should have, so is there a way of doing this using the standard effects?
Many thanks,

August 3, 2005 at 7:26 pmThe CC effects don’t come with educational versions. If that’s not you, check the install CD. They should be under the name “Cycore”. You can make a cylinder or sphere with those effects.
However, I know of no way to make a cone in AE without plugins. Conoa 3D seems to do it: https://www.conoa.com/files/conoa-3d.pdf
Hope that helps,

August 4, 2005 at 5:15 pmIf Conoa involves wrapping a layer around the cone, then make sure that the layer is a composition. Then you can mess around with the composition, possibly by sliding the content down so the top part is transparent, and the changes therein will show up in the cone.
You might want to separate the window tabs of the main comp and the other comp so when you make changes in one comp, they’re reflected in the other comp. That is, when you change the “content” comp, you can see the cone change.
You see?
