Hello. I’m trying to make sense of this whole business of how cameras will record progressive footage as PF30 which is wrapped up in a 60i container. I’ve read a lot of stuff in the past few days, but am having trouble getting my head around the big picture.

If I’m working with footage shot in PF30 (such as from a Canon S21), it comes looking like 60i. Will I then be expected to convert it to 30P using Media Encoder? Can I pick a good sequence setting and deinterlace it the right way? Do I need to deinterlace at all?

My final output needs to be progressive. What is the best way to get there?

    Thank you all!
