July 23, 2011 at 3:36 pmDepends on how “funky” you want to go with this effect, you can try adding a third layer on top.
Maybe some sort of animating texture, put a different flicker speed on it and try out some blending modes.
Maybe be add the animating texture layer over some cuts for a few frames either side.
It really depends on what your eyes can handle 😉
Cheers,
Brendan

July 24, 2011 at 7:18 amHi,
If you need the intermittence but not the flash that is not a problem.
By simply removing/disabling a command in the script (glorious FxScript! God save FxScript!) I can give you exactly what you need, here a few examples (you can tweak duration and other parameters to your taste of course).https://www.videonline.co.uk/fd2q/IntermittentClips.mov
Email me if you want me to send you the transition with only intermittent clips effect or with the option to enable/disable it (Works with FCP up to version 7).
There are also some other free plugin of mine that create similar intermittent effects. One is Flicker Wipe Transition and the other (a bit funkier) is Shaky Bumb Transition (there’s an effect version too).
They can all be found here:
