That’s the beauty about sharing the ideas like this…. hopefully we can get to see a multitude of ways that people would approach the same concept.

    Great fun!

    Cheers,

You might like this improved version that has controls for brightness flicker as well (brightness level and brightness flicker speed). Adds a bit of extra something to this effect I think.

    Enjoy.

I think the really interesting part of this is seeing not just what you come up with, which is always elegant and effective, but also the how of how you get there. There’s so much to learn from seeing what someone else does and how they go about the workflow – great stuff.

Thanks for continuing to inspire us all 😉

For what its worth, users of FxFactory might be interested in Luca Visual FX Light Kit Pack …theres some awesome flickery type stuff that works in FCPX in there : https://www.lucavisualfx.com/lightkit.htm

Doesn’t alternate between two clips as I can see, flickering lights etc were not what I was looking for.
Will test the two added effects in a hour or so when we’re at the studio 😉

    Frank

You probably just overlooked the last effect item listed in that collection : Flash … “A transition that creates various intermittent flash / lightning transition effects in between clips.” … thats the one that seems to do something along the lines of what you described you were looking for. But hey, Luca’s FxFactory filters are nice, but certainly if I were you I’d try Simon’s free Flicker filter first!

    Cheers

Thanks, I see, but in fact I don’t want a flash in between, it was the idea that the clips just alternate, like a very quick multi cam ?

I said it a bit wrong maybe.
Downloading them now and testing a few minutes.

The BG is exactly what I looked for, love it.
    Thanks so much.
The flicker transition is also very nice and also added to the “arsenal”

Will look into the filters because adding a “flash” can sometimes be good.

    Thanks so much guys.

    Hi
    Like this?

Everything we might want to do with an NLE somebody tried in a 1″ VTR edit room 😉
It sort of defeats h264 encoding – it looked a lot better off the 1″ master…
