Worst Crash… Event corrupted, Project files ok?
Hey all I hope someone has ideas for my problem 🙁
So my Event file containing all of the information and links for my Multicam Clips and Compound Clips has been corrupted.
I can’t open it in FCP 10.0.3 or 10.0.5 (don’t ask about the two versions…long story)
but the project files are still accessible – @_@ except that all of my editing was done with Multiclips! Without the event file for my projects to reference all of the multicam clips are “offline” since there is no physical data to relink to besides the media. Relinking only brings up the physical clips that were used – but there seems to be no option to “relink” the multicam edits to the original event @_@
I can’t even say how devastated I am by this as I spent hours tweaking and fussing with the different angles for this 1 1/2 hour concert and making all kinds of workarounds… and now all of those edits are unusable because the Project file – where I can see all of my cuts! – is referencing metadata that is contained in my unopenable Event file.
I have tried both the Current and backup version of my Event file but the backup is even worse 🙁 at least when I try to open the Current version FCP x just hangs and Activity monitor shows that the amount of Ram being used stops changing in # – even after 30 minutes or more, whereas FCP X straight up says the backup version is unreadable.
I am going to give Event Manager a whirl but I don’t think there are any corrupt Media files and my Project files seem to be fine – they just need the right event to Connect to!!
As a Note – my Event file is 666.66 MB large – I think this is due to it containing not only the multicam and compound clip information but any titles I have generated seem to be so clunky and slow down the system, and the event contains at least 13 of them :/
