    Hi,

I’m using Avid Xpress and I am able to get media read and edit as long as I have the p2 card in my laptop (a pc). I copied all the mfx files onto an external hard drive and want avid to use the external hard drive as the source of the media as I have multiple P2 cards that I need to offload to that hard drive and edit the footage from that. I can’t seem to figure this out. anyone?

    thanks much!

    With P2 card loaded:

    Go to MediaTool
Select P2 card as drive to look at
The MediaTool will display all the clips on the card
Drag all to a bin with the project
    Select ALL and consolidate

This will be as fast as a copy, it is managed and already associated with the project.

An added benefit during the consolidate process a SOURCE MOB is created allowing for offline/online relink workflows via transcode.
