    Hi All

As part of an updating a showreel I did for a client, they have asked me to insert additional footage, one of the new videos is taken in portrait.

I’ve never edited any “vertical” video before as part of a larger video, and I’m just wondering what is the best way to use it (other than suggesting the client doesn’t use it).

Currently I have a duplicate of the video layer underneath, stretched out to fill the 16:9 worth of black around it, ala YouTube – I’d be more than happy to hear of any other alternatives that look better.

    Thank you!.

Yeah, that’s about all you can do: make a matte. Using the picture is cool. You can also make other stuff, like fractals and so on. You are on the right path though.
