    Hello,

I have some footage of a surfer on a a wave and I want to composite a simple GRID over the footage to make it appear as though there is a GRID on the wave. I have tried achieving this using the various blend modes but I just can’t seem to get the desired look.

    Any suggestions/ideas?

    Thank You!

What are you seeing, and what is the desired look?

I basically want it to look like the GRID is overlaid on the wave. I want it to look like he is surfing on the grid. Right now it just does not blend that well. It looks like the grid is on top of everything (including the surfer) it’s a bit overwhelming. Also is there a way to mask out certain parts of the grid. The usual mask does not seem to have any affect on it.

    Thanks.

There’s no way you’re going to get the grid to look like it’s under the surfer without rotoscoping him, and then compositing him over the grid.
