Working with chromakeying – how to speed up rendering ?
Hi!
Thanks for a GREAT forum – I really enjoy it day after day – and this is my first post 🙂
I shoot greenscreen clips using my AVCHD cam (Panasonic HMC-151) and when editing in Final Cut Pro, working with backgrounds, is a real hassle.
Everytime I edit anything, I have to re-render that part and even though I’m on a reasonably fast i7 iMac, it’s very annoying to me.
Can I speed this up by lowering the time spent on rendering ?
Perhaps by changing my AVCHD files into some other format ?

Yeap, you should not be using this codec in editing, you need to use log and transfer to convert them to ProRes. Then if that is not fast enough for you you need to get a faster computer. -
Oh, I’m sorry – should have added that I AM already in Prores 422 (this happens automatically when I log and transfer from the Pana cam).
