Trying to import a QT file into FCP, and I get a “File Error” message that reads , “1 file recognized, 0access denied, 1 unknown.”. Is there any way to import this file? Thanks.

If is a matter of read/write, you can change the file’s permissions in the Info Window, but “1 unknown” smells to corrupted file.

Thanks. Changing the permissions did not allow me to import the files (scenes form an indie film) to FCP, which was downloaded from 4shared.com. Is there anything the owner of the files do to make these files writable?

Are you able to play the file in QT?
What kind of file (codec) it is?
