Working with 1280×720 50fps and 1920×1080 25fps
Hi
I am cutting a documentary and the majority of footage is shot on on Cannon XF305 at 1920×1080 25 fps and converted to apple prores 422 (HQ) via mpeg streamclip.
There has also been some extra footage shot on a canon 5D at 1280×720 50fps. Some of this is to look slomo, however an interview has also been accidentally recorded in this format which is not for slomo.
I plan to work with the footage in the following way:
1. Working on a 1920×1080 apple pro res 25fps timeline as the film has to be delivered to these specs.
2. For the 720p50 footage that is NOT intended to be slomo, converting this to 25fps and 1920×1080 apple pro res via mpeg streamclip, to avoid having to render in FCP.
3. For the 720p50 footage that IS intended to be used slomo, converting to 1920×1080 apple pro res via mpeg streamclip and retaining it at 50 fps. Then slowing it down to 50% when editing in FCP.Just wanted opinions on whether these methods are a good way to go in terms of converting the footage.
Thanks
