Not in realtime, you’ll need to render the mismatched format. That is, if you’re going to edit in a 1080i timeline, you’ll need to render the 720p material.

The AJA Kona 3 does real-time cross convert of 720 to 1080i or vice versa and it’s absolutely pristine.

is this a OSX option as well?
can i just render it on the timeline of FCP or import it as if it were 1080i?

what i mean to ask really is can i render it on the timeline and then send it as a render HDV 1080i to my Z1u and re import it to FCP as a workable 1080i?
