Working on precomposed sequenses, viewing main comp
Hi,
Im having problems working on precomposed sequenses, viewing main comp.
My main comp is an animated character moving his lips as we hear the dubbed voice.
The mouth moving is placed in the main comp but is precomposed into another comp.
What Im trying to do is working in my precomp for adjusting the mouth while I see what is going on in my main comp.Is this possible?
In Houdini its as easy as putting a needle on the main comp (so it is visible all the time) while working on another compositions. It doesnt seem to work here. I know I can lock the main composition but it doesnt react to what I do in the precomp. Not live.

Copy the audio file into both comps, makes sure they play at the same time, preview sound with period. … hit LL for wave forms, and command + mouse to scrub through timeline. then when your done make sure to turn off one of the audios or it will be twice as loud.

It is often possible to place a controller null in the Main comp with slider controls linked to the motion in the nested comp.
Dan Ebberts demonstrates a more sophisticated method using markers to control the animation in nested comps.

As you have noted, only the current composition updates interactively; other open comps wait until interaction is complete before they render their views.
