Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any articles about ways to work on premier, AE etc CS5 projects between a laptop and desktop?
For example, when I am away and working on my laptop (which has the same premiere etc.) I might want to edit some interview footage stored on an external drive and bring back and transfer to my hard drive for the master project on my desktop.
Am I making this more difficult than it really is???

I do this often, and it’s not hard at all. As long as the media follows the project file (which you should also be copying back and forth), you’ll be fine. You may have to relink media every time you jump from laptop to desktop, but if you have decent file management skills, this process should be painless.
