Hi group, thank you for helping beginners like myself, I am at UCLA for directing and we’re producing a 1 min. project every other week. I have begun using AE to color correct and add masks and I am not understanding what the best workflow is to reduce my render time.

In Premiere Pro 5.5 I’m having to add color correction and the typical things and sending to AE where I like the Color Correction and masking over PP. I can’t handle 5-10 hour renders.

Is the best method to export a ProRes movie and bring that into AE or is it better to send the PP project over. I noticed some of my Magic Bullet effects do not work in both (Denoiser II) and others which is making my life hell.

I hope someone can share their knowledge….

Personally, if the project only requires color grading and basic compositing, its better to finish everything in Premier Pro.

Can u elaborate which part that make you need to render up to 5 hours.?

If you need to render because of video format you’re working, I recon you convert your video files to ProRes and edit on that format.
I normally use this software to convert.
