Workflow for “Primary Out”
I’m wondering what the best workflow would be to accomplish what the Primary Out room did in Color. I’m still fairly new to Resolve and I miss having that feature.
From what I can tell it is in selecting the clips and creating a new group and making sure the ripple mode is set to percentage. Does this work in all situations? Thanks!

You would use the Track tab and add color correct nodes there. This will apply to the entire timeline on top of your individual grades in the Clip tab.

What if you want to affect just one scene within a timeline? For example 25 clips out of 200 are from 2 different cameras and all have different node trees. After grading I’ve decided that that whole scene that consists of 25 clips needs to be colder and less saturated.
Creating groups seems to change all the clips in the group to have the same node tree. What’s the easiest way to accomplish this?

Either you start with a consistent node tree which is usable for grouping, or you add a node manually to all 25 shots.
And yes, this has been requested before.

Being able to put all those “similar shots” on a new Vtrack and being able to apply a Track grade to that V layer would be nice. Would also be good for multi camera shoots.

Maybe what we need is an adjustment node like the adjustment layer in After Effects which allows us to definite a range in the timeline which this node will apply to.
The question is how to define the range – do we do it in the timeline in the Conform Page and then have it shown in the Color Page as a node in the Track tab ?
Or a new tab window for this ?
