We’ve just done our first shoot with the HVX200, and I love the camera. My only surprise was that the auto iris seems to underexpose significantly. But once you learn the LCD it makes very pretty pictures.

I followed someones suggestion to create folders on a hard drive (we’re using Lacie Rugged drives in the field) named 001, 002, etc; then dragging each P2 card’s files into that folder. When you import you have to navigate to that level on the drive but it works fine. Once imported you have clips with the names generated by the camera. Questions:

If you now rename those clips, is there a way to relink to the archive of P2 files?

Is there any reason not to edit P2 clips in P2 log?

That’s adjustable in the menus, look for A.Iris Level in the Scene File menu. It’s biased towards underexposure in the scene files that default to the Cine-Like gammas, but you can change that. Just be sure to protect your highlights, as overexposure in the cinegamma modes is not pretty.
