workflow ? – animate a string that morphs into a handful of shapes
hi there
am trying to brainstorm a process for a job
they want to have a line write on straight across the screen, and morph into various shapes.
in AE, am i looking at just animating a mask that i texture with a brushy luma mask? the compositing part is not scary, but am just not sure how to best animate this line to turn into different shapes/words

I think that tutorial is nice for one type of look. I could not view your sample, but I would use trapcode 3d stroke. It gives you a lot of unique options on top of simply morphing your path. If you animate your
path(s) carefully you can go from shape to shape and animate secondary motion as well.SuperNova
