After entering into the HDV world nearly a month ago, I have researched and did some expeirment. I have spent hours on these forums trying to get my head around all the information there is. I have found that there are many ways to skin a cat.

I was wondering if someone could give me a very basic run down on how I can get the very best quality at using the tools I have and still be able to edit and apply special effects like I have in the past with SD.

I need to to do a 45 min Safety video shot in HDV. The video will involve green-screening, and since I have CS3, I would like to try ultra this time around. I will also need to use After Effects extensively. The output will be DVD and not HD or Blu-ray.

Again, there is so many ways to go. I just want the balance of best possible quality and easy of use. I have the CS3 Production Suite, a fairly descent computer (vista and a nvidia direct10 video card), and a Canon XH-A1 camera.

If someone can provide me with a short best practices workflow I would appreciate it greatly.

    You guys are the best.

    Thanks.
