Further to a malaware in my computer I have reinstalled Windows and my programs as well. Although the Scratch disks of Premiere where set to directories pertaining to an another hard disk than the programs (Edit/Preferences/Scratch disks), when I have restarted my last Premiere project I have had to rerender the work area. Are there other directories than the ones set for the Srcatch disks, used by Premiere when achieving the rendering? My HD project last 80 minutes and the rendering, including rendering the auxiliary sequences took more than 6 hours. Incidentally, is it necessary to render individually sequences inserted on the main timeline in addition to rendering the main timeline? Thank you for your help.

Premiere does not “render” any files anywhere other than the Scratch discs set in Preferences.
While nested sequences show a need to be rendered, I see no reason to do so. With a relatively fast computer, I seldom render any preview files in original sequences.
