  • Word on a path, hits a “paddle” reverses as different text

    Good morning:
The idea is a simple “Pong” graphic where a word (‘serve’) goes left to right across the composition, hits the paddle, the words sort of mush together, and bounce back out as another word (‘return’)going right to left.
I just need to know how to mush the word, change it, and reverse it back to the right.
    Thanks.
    Michael

To smash your word, put your anchor point for the text on the side that will hit the paddle, and unlink your scanned so it is no longer uniform, and then adjust the horizontal scale until the word is indistinguishable. Keyframe your source text option under your text options so that your second word appears when the weird is smashed up. The keyframe will be a hold keyframe so it will be an instant change. Then you can copy and paste your movement and scale keyframes and just reverse their values to change the motion back.

Thanks Derek. Can’t wait to get home tonight to play around with it.
