Won’t Capture HELP!
I am running FCP 4.5. on a G5. For the longest time, I have had difficulty capaturing from mini DV tape using my deck and Firewire. I am using Firewire 48khz NTSC settings. It would capture some of my clip, usually about a minute in, and then I would get a beachball and I have to shut down. I was only be able to capture when using noncontrollable device routing something like a DVD palyer through it. At that point I had 500MB of Memory. I Just got 2.5 GB of memory installed in my computer, but now I cant capture anything. The “preview disabled” screen just sits there when Im trying to see the tape or whatever I have routed. I never had this problem b4. What Should I do?

What camera are you capturing from? What version of OS are you running? Are you capturing to an external drive, or secondary internal? How was it formatted?
