Wolverine’s Claws
Hi
Does anybody know to to make or do Wolverine’s clws in the x-men movies? Its been baffling me since the first movie came out!

my guess would be tracking markers, motion tracked, and then the claws would have been done in 3d (probably maya)
Colin Strause who runs Hydraulx often posts over at CGtalk, but i cant remember what his name is overthere. maybe have a look round there.

Jackman had short claw appliances stuck to his hands, used as a visual reference for the longer, thinner CG claws. However, when the claws extended, they were all-CG.
Sorry, I don’t have my Cinefex here to tell you which 3D app they used. 🙂
