Woes stabilizing portions of one angle in Multicam Clip
I have a ten minute movie comprised of footage from 5 cameras. I have synced them up in a multicam clip and edited my angle cuts on the timeline. There are a few of these angle cuts that could benefit from stabilization. I searched this topic on this and other forums and found that you cannot easily stabilize certain cuts, you have to go to the angle editor and figure out where your cuts are in the component clips. Further, it is best not to stabilize the entire camera angle in the angle editor if there is a lot of extraneous motion in unused portions, as this will cause stabilization to zoom in really far or otherwise mess up. So you only want to stabilize the portion of the cam angle that you are actually using. Has anyone found an easy way to figure out where those portions are located in the footage?
If you select the clip on the timeline and right-click you can select ‘reveal in browser’ and this will indeed show you the portion of the multicam clip in the browser. But I cannot find a way to get it to select a region of the appropriate cam angle in the angle editor. This would make this type of ‘surgical’ stabilization so much easier.
Has anyone discovered a way to make this process easier?
