Hi guys, i have been trying to find out if it is possible to have a mac g5 with 2 hard drives. One hard drive runs os x 10.4 another runs 10.6. Just want to switch between the 2 cause in the 10.4 hard drive, i have an xsan that connects me to a 24T raid for SD video. As for the 10.6, it will use a local 1T raid drive, mainly for HD purposes.

Is switching between 2 os possible? If yes how do i do it. And where can i find out how this can be done.

10.6 is Intel ONLY, so you cannot even install it on your old G5.

    Yes.

Quite simple really, you just install a different OS on each drive, and then hold down the option key while booting to select which OS you want.

But again you cannot run 10.6 on your machine. 10.5 was the last OS that would run on a Power PC Mac.

    Hindsight is always 1080p
