Wish List For Next Update
Posted by David Mathis on March 12, 2016 at 3:20 amOnly thing I can think of at the moment is a precision editor in a secondary storyline. Would like to import a Motion project or send clips over. Could always export a range of clips with roles as separate files for each role but not an ideal situation.

March 12, 2016 at 6:30 amThat’s it? My list grows every time I edit with FCPX.
My new biggest wish is for UI snapshots or workspaces. When I do color work, I want to bring up the color board and the scopes. But I hate how the viewer gets so small so I turn off my Library List and shorten the browser (cuz I’m primarily working the timeline at that time). All this so I can rearrange the viewer, scopes, timeline, and inspector for the optimal look when coloring. But then if I do something else and come back, I have to rearrange all those windows all over again. Just give me the ability to open/close/rearrange windows and then save that as a look which I can reach with a shortcut.
Multiple clip range select tool.
Dynamic feedback when using keyboard shortcut trims.
That’s just for starters.

March 17, 2016 at 8:49 pmI just want batch syncing and that would be enough for me right now. I could use more , but that would make my day.
I am so tired of having to go to Plural Eyes, Woowave DreamSync, DaVinci Resolve, and Premiere in order to batch sync. They’re all fine products but neither handles syncing the way I’d want.
It’s annoying to have to leave the app for this feature.
Aside from that:
– Match filename to clip name (like FCP 7) so that in the case of AVCHD clips we can leverage FCP X’s ability to rename clips, but have it actually affect the Finder clip as well.
– Figure out a way to make custom Motion generators not take so darn long to render in FCP X, making the convenience almost pointless sometime.
– Improved Color board (just bake in Color Finale)
– Something like Boris Soundbite, but better and more reliable.
-Puppet tool (OK that’s for Motion)

March 24, 2016 at 3:14 pmRemove the many limitations on multicam:
– Cannot apply stabilization (whether built in or 3rd party)
– Cannot apply optical flow smoothing
– Cannot use *any* Mocha tracking feature such as SliceX object removal, shape mask, etc.
– Cannot use AuditionsThis is a harsh, discordant experience for a product which emphasizes simplicity and ease of use.
By contrast with Premiere CC you just apply stabilization, tracking or optical flow directly to the MC clip. This is a major advantage for Premiere.
