I am doing some low end pod casts and I don’t like the built in mic on the Mac Book Pro. I have a sennheier E2 lav mic that has a bad connector and just bought a new mic for the TX.

Anyway, I wanted to adapt the mic to an 1/8 in mono or stereo plug to plug into my MBP.

I am assuming there is a hot, neutral and a ground. What leads would I wire to a mono 1/8 phone jack. Could I wire it to a stereo 1/8 inch phone jack to send mono to two channels via the phone jack.

I have never tried this before. I can only wire XLR mic cable. I just dont’ have a schematic in the sennheiser.

Hello Nelson and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

If the mic you got is wired to go into the Sennheiser wireless transmitter, you need a power supply module to plug it into. Depending on the lav you bought, ME4, MKE 4 or something else, you may have mixed results in finding such a supply.

Here’s a handy adapter for XLR to the Sennheiser inputs.
