wipe / transition effect in after effects Canon example
I’ve ssen this Canon commercial for a camera. The commercial is buildt on transitions / wipes and I want to do something like that, of course nothing as advanced as they.
So my question is: is there a good guide somewhere how to do these transitions? Or is it called something else?

You just pan/tilt the camera the same direction on two shots and then in post blend them together during the pan/tilt. You’re dreaming if you think that anything you do with your buddies could approximate looking that good. They probably had some computer controlled robot camera that can pan at the same speed every time.
Your best bet is to put a lot of motion between your shots so that the cut point gets lost in the confusion.

thanks for the answer and yes I know that I’m dreaming when I say I want to do it like that ^^. Maybe I did not explain anough what we’re doing. We are going to film in a food store and going to film the shelves in profile on a dolly.
So when the camera is going to pass shelf number two I want another picture to be “masked” in. That picture is starting in white (white wall) and where the wall ends, a man stands.
So maybe this hasn’t got anything with the canon commercial afterall..
Do you know any good tutorial on masking (videotutorial preferable) since I’m not that good at Englsih, as you can see.
