I am looking for a way to create a transition where in it looks like someone is erasing the the screen.

It is a text overlay and I would like to simulate the erasing of the text like one would erase a chalk board.

I know its possible but not sure how to go about.

Are you wanting it “erased” in strokes? Or all at once?

If all at once, just use a wipe transition.

If in strokes, things get more complicated. For that, you could look at the pixelan transitions, the adorage transitions, maybe the free Luminance transition with the proper gradient, etc…

I have used multiple cookie cutters with keyframes in the past with good results, plus its simple and uses built in FX.
