Hello everyone please for give me if this question has been ask before. I will be purchasing a new HD camcorder soon that records on flash memory cards. This is for home use recording things like kids baseball and football games Air shows and vacations. I edit on Final Cut Pro now but edit AVCHD I will have to replace MAC for an Intel mac. I love the work flow of Premier and will be making the switch. I a dell PC now that has the Intel i7 processor and six gig of memory on it but it is the family PC. My question is which OS runs better Mac or PC or it dose not matter? And what recommendations do any have? If I purchase MAC Pro that is going to be at least twenty two hundred dollars. Will a PC be less?

You should really do your research before making a post like this on the forum — this issue has been dealt with on the COW many times. So I’m not commenting on the Mac/PC issue.

But if you’re planning on using Premier on a Mac to process AVDHC, you should be aware that there are serious issues here. THEORETICALLY Premiere supports AVCHD. But in practice, you will be unable to export/render your sequences without issues. I don’t know whether this applies to a PC.

A successful workaround is to convert all your MTS files to MOV files. Adobe apparently makes a such a converter for the PC. Or you could use Adobe’s Media Encoder on the Mac.
