Windows Media Export Bails Out?
Hi! From FCP I’m trying to export a :30 spot into a Windows Media file. Each time I do this, the export happens but upon playback of that new file, it’s only the first :12 seconds and then the file ends. What am I doing wrong? This file is for a client on a PC who said they couldnt see the Quicktime file I had made using H.264. I looked at Compressor but I dont see any PC-friendly Presets that make any sense. Is there a more logical flow to this? I made an AVI but it looks pretty cruddy- and the file size is rather large. Should I pursue another type of file? Thanks.

Sound like you are using a demo version. Do you own an official version of Flip4Mac QuickTime export component?

I don’t have time to explain it here at the moment but you can use Compressor to make a new WMV settings and create a Droplet. You can export a QuickTime reference movie from FCP and then drop the movie on the predesignated settings Droplet or do an Ctrl+Open Width and your Droplet should be listed in the context menu. The Droplet can then open you Batch Monitor that uses Compressor’s engine.
