Windows 8, Vegas 12 Pro
Posted by Tyson Onaga on August 19, 2013 at 6:25 pmForgetting GPU (assume it is OFF), are there Vegas 12 Pro users running smoothly on Windows 8?
I read that Windows 7 and 8 have the same core internals and that 8 added that crappy UI downgrade.John Rofrano replied 12 years, 9 months ago 2 Members · 3 Replies -

That about sums it up quite nicely! 😉
Vegas Pro 12.0 should run fine on Windows 8. Some people claim the UI seems a bit faster but if you disable the Aero UI in Windows 7 then you’ll probably get a similar experiences since this is pretty much what Windows 8 did.

lol 😀
I only say this because I had to test Vegas Pro 12.0 on Windows 8 to test that our VASST plug-ins worked correctly and everything seemed to work fine. I was running Windows 8 in a virtual machine using VMware Workstation (where I do all of my software testing) and it was a smooth experience. Had I not just built my Windows 7 workstation a few months prior to Windows 8 coming out I may have tried it but the thought of re-registering all of my software will all of their draconian copy protection schemes was just too much to even think about.
May the force be with you.
