    Hello,

WinXP DeckLink HD Pro Single Channel user here. I believe I just updated to the 4.8.1 drivers. However I’m conflicted because when I look at my Device Manager->Display Adapters->Blackmagic DeckLink Display properties it stll says I’m on driver version 4.7.0.0

I just updated this morning by downloading the update driver from this link:
    https://www.blackmagic-design.com/downloads/software/DeckLink_Windows_v4.8.1.zip

Opening the zip file gives me the following file:
    DeckLink_Windows_v4.8.1.msi

When I opened it I initially chose to “Repair Blackmagic DeckLink” and it went through the motions and completed ok but after a restart I still saw 4.7 in the driver properties of my Device Manager.

So I tried again this time I chose to “Remove Blackmagic DeckLink” and then opened the msi app again to install the drivers. After a restart my Device Manager properties still shows version 4.7. However I do see version 4.8.1 in the readme file.

How do I check to make sure I’m really running the latest drivers?

When you update a driver, make sure you first uninstall the old one (using the Add/Remove Software function in the Control Panel) before you install the new driver. It sounds like you’re still running the old driver. Best to remove all Decklink drivers now, and then install the latest ones.

    Hi
I’ve just installed fresh new XP system and finaly 4.8.1 Decklink drivers. After reading this thread I’ve looked to device manager and surprisingly the drivers shows 4.7. Strange…
