That looks like a Expression thing in ae(objects) and the wind effect(PI). Maybe you can find a tutorial to create a gravity like physics in AE the add wind effect. Hope that helps..

I assume you mean the smoke trails that they add to a wind tunnel so you can see the airflow? I’d use a smoke stream, then some forces to deflect the smoke around whatever object is in there.
