    Hi…

    I am new to expressions and I am trying to simulate wind that moves a layer in 3d space…

    I used this espression for the position and it works quite well (I want to affects only the x position of my layer)

    wind=25
    value+[wind*time,0,0]

    The only issue is that the position is linked to time so if I have my first layer at z=-1000 and my last layer at z=-10000 as the cameras moves forward my last layer is gone too early…

    Is there a way to link the “wind” to the camera so it is the distance from the camera that affects the position of the layer?

    something like

    wind=25
    value+[wind*”distance from the camera”,0,0] ???

    Thanks
    pier

    Hi…
    I tried to use a “repel from” behavior in Apple Motion with success…
    Is there a way to get a similar effect in AE using expressions?
    That is layer_1 repels layer_2 one as layer_1 moves towards layer_2?

    tnx

    Hi… I’ve found a very useful expression searching the forum…

    I did not find anything useful before just because I did not use the right search terms…
