Will Vegas start rendering if there isn’t enough storage space?
I’m doing a time lapse video compressing 18 hours of footage (about 50GB’s) into 4 minutes.
Unfortunately, I’m doing this on my laptop and it doesn’t have much storage space.
I’ve already started the render and it’s showing about 20 hours left, but I just want to know if Vegas would actually start rendering if there isn’t enough storage space for the final edit?
I’d hate to wait 19+ hours only to get an error screen pop up saying I need more space and to try again cause that would suck!!

If you’re using Vegas Pro, use a veg file to save a LOT of space and headaches 🙂
Do your first speed increase (Ctrl-Drag + Velocity envelope) to get the initial 18 hr. down to 1.5 hr.
Save this as a veg file.
Start a new project, import that veg file and repeat the process bringing you down to 7.5 minutes.
Save this as a new veg file, import it again and speed it up only 1.875 times to get down to 4 minutes.
Now render it.
NOTE: remember to disable resample to get rid of any ghosting. -
