Will the 5.0 driver work with a Tiger, FCP 4.5, and QT 7.0.1 configuration?

I know this isn’t the recommended configuration, but I was trying to avoid the $500 FCP 5.0 upgrade price.

Also, do I need the $30 Quicktime pro upgrade?

The 5 series drivers only work with FCP 5… And yeah, if you download quicktime 7, you will have to pay again to get the PRO features back.

    Hi Ian,

No, that won’t work. Amongst other things, the format of easy setups has changed in FCP. So if you install DeckLink 5.0 drivers, the Blackmagic easy setups will not appear in FCP 4.5.

You could try the DeckLink 4.8.1r2 drivers as their easy setups will appear in FCP 4.5. However I’m not aware of Apple supporting FCP 4.5 on Tiger and we haven’t performed any verification testing of DeckLink 4.8 drivers with Tiger and QuickTime 7.0.x and so we don’t recommend this system.

Thanks for the knowledge! You’re right. I didn’t work. I just ordered FCP 5.0

    Thanks,
