Will I be happy with this system? Any other bargain recommendations?
I’ve been looking for a basic video editing system, and would like some opinions on this one. Dell has a special for $350 off, which brings it down to about $800.

Windows 10 homeThis is the best deal I’ve seen recently for what I want, with i7, 16GB, and under $1000. I know the weak spot here is the video. Unfortunately, it’s not customizable. I’m working off a laptop now, so I’m pretty sure this would a big improvement. I’m thinking that I could upgrade the video later.
My needs are fairly basic: Assembly, editing, simple effects, and color correction. No need for 4K. I’m not looking for blazing speed, just a system that won’t stutter and pause on me. Do you know of a similar system that would fit me for under $1000? Thanks.

Hi Douglas. What is your plan for media and cache storage? You do not want media and cache on the same drive as your OS and applications.

Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF. -
