    According to page 16 of the Resolve Configuration guide, you absolutely can put 2 Quadro 4000 cards in (slots 1 and 2).

    You do not want to use a x4 PCI slot (i.e. slots 3 and 4) for a GPU OR for a GUI card.

    You absolutely can put 2 4000 cards in a Mac. 1 in slot 1 and 1 in slot 2. And one of them will be used only as the GUI card, and the other will be used as the GPU card.
