  Will a Dell XPS or Inspiron actualy work for Express Pro editing?

  Lowest windows laptop . . . Will a Dell XPS or Inspiron actualy work?

  I need a portable box I can take in the field and pull news clips together for podcasts. Can I USB two 7200 RPM drives to one and have it work?

  XPS boxes will run 4 megs of RAM, Inspiron top out at 2 megs. I’ve got ‘old’ spec’s on chip sets and such and am wondering if I can get by with a cheaper machine.

  Otherwise, I’m looking at the M90 and M65 workstation laptops.

  I’m seeing non-approved machines for sale from 3rd-party vendors and am wonder if it’s practical to snag a ‘normal’ Dell laptop and get going.
