  • Wiggle Expression and keeping a layer locked in position.

    Hello there.

Its an IV bag consisting of FOUR layers, (1) the TOP part of the bag, (2) a Smaller Part of the bag, (3) a Hose, and (4) a needle.

Layers 1 and 2 have wiggle expressions while the hose (3) is parented to layer (2) and the needle parented to the hose (3).

My problem is I’d like for the needle to stay in the same position (in someones arm) while being parented and attached to everything.

Does this make sense? is it possible? Would love some help.

I’ve attached a ghetto picture of what it looks like, where the anchor points are and the position I want to keep locked in position.

    Thanks everyone.

That looks like a job for inverse kinematics, applied to the rotation of layers 3 and 4. Layer 2 would be the torso, 3 the upper arm and 4 the lower arm. You’d probably need to add a null at the attach point (wrist). A bit of work to set up, but pretty foolproof once you get it working.
