wierd timeline effect
Anyone have ideas for the stutter effect in this mercury ad for the mariner?

The way the girl walks…It kinda looks like the movement of the girl in the ring. Its pretty cool and I have a few places where I could use it.

There are some cool ideas in there, for sure. To me, when I saw the commercial on TV the first time, it looked as if they had achieved that effect using stop motion on a live action set. I know it sounds incredibly tedious, but you must admit that it certainly looks almost clamation-like the way the woman moves.
If only life had ‘Ctrl-Z’

Maybe shooting at a high shutter speed (narrow angle) would kill any motion blur, giving a more “stop-motion” look.
